WE all know breakfast in bed, pyjamas or a massage voucher are great gifts to treat any mum on Mother’s Day, but this year, treat mum to something extra, that will not only please her but will be the present she will always remember.
The one-day each year, where it is all things mum, exceed her expectations by treating her to mouth-watering dishes and refreshing drinks at Brisbane’s well-known precinct, South Bank.
This year, the team at South Bank Corporation, have wrapped up a list of ways to shower mum with the love and appreciation she deserves.
For the mum who enjoys the finer things in life:
Stokehouse Q: For $78 per person, enjoy a two-course menu or for $95 per person three-course menu at Stokehouse Q.
If you’re not a fan of a set menu, fear not, both offer three choices in each course and are inclusive of side dishes, coffee and tea.
Che Asado: What mum wouldn’t love to partake in an afternoon of oysters and champagne for $21? Che Asado has a special on, featuring these two things with Argentinian live music playing from 5pm – 8pm.
Aquitaine: $70 per person for a three course meal, mums will be spoilt with not only gorgeous river views but also delicious food and a glass of bubbly on arrival.
For the adventurous mum:
Wheel of Brisbane: Treat mum to an experience she will never forget, by taking her on a sky high, scenic ride with on-wheel dining for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Prices are as follows:
2 people: $120 each
3 people: $105 each
4 people: $92.50 each
5 people: $87 each
6 people: 83.50 each
For the mum who loves high tea:
Bacchus: From $60 per person, you and mum can enjoy a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, scones with raspberry preserve and cream Chantilly and an assortment of sweet delights while sipping on fine tea with a glass of Moet upon on arrival. The price also includes a jazz pianist and a special gift for mum.
For the mum who loves to give back:
Next Door Kitchen and Bar: This year, treat mum while giving back to the Starlight Foundation when you dine at Next Door Kitchen and Bar. The South Bank Kitchen and Bar will feature a $13 cocktail special on Mothers Day where all proceeds will go to the Starlight Foundation.
For the mum who can eat more than you:
Ole Restaurant: For $49, enjoy a ‘Mother’s Day Dinner Feast’ featuring slow cooked lamb shoulder, roasted root vegetables, charred lemon and lamb jus.
Popolo: For $70 per person, enjoy a seven-course spread with mum ($35 for kids from 5 to 13 years). Who doesn’t love a Italian meal shared with the family?
For every mum who says she ‘doesn’t want flowers’ but really does want them:
Flowers of the World: Flowers for Mother’s Day may be original but they are most certainty essential. Make your mums day this year, by presenting her with a beautiful bouquet of Australian grown flowers from Flowers of the World.
If you want to go one step further, treat her to a delicious organic breakfast and coffee at Flowers of the World on Sunday morning.
