JULES Tognini has chopped his way through the 2015 Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Australia Awards in Sydney, where he was named as ‘Men’s Hairdresser of the Year’, ‘Educator of the Year’ and ‘Photographic Collection of the Year’.
The AKA Togninis Creative Director, founder of ‘lil off the top’, and evo ambassador, successfully took home the trophies for all three categories.
It’s the third year in a row that Brisbane’s mane man Jules Tognini has been honoured as Men’s Hairdresser, but it’s especially exciting to see him take out ‘Educator of the Year’ title for someone so young.
Jules, who is 31, said winning the three awards was an absolutely surreal experience and sends a special thank you to the guys and girls out there who have supported him in the last year.
“It’s such an achievement to named as a finalist, but to win, is even better,” he said.
“It has been more than seven years since I started hairdressing and I will never look back, I am surrounded by creative, youthful and like-minded people who also have a passion for the s.h.i.t* haircut.”
The resident hipster has recently been in the USA promoting his ‘lil off the top’ hair education program with the dudes from evo, teaching the Yankees all there is to know about hair.
The 6-week tour saw Jules visit a number of cities including New York, Westchester, Dallas, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Edmonton to help hairdressers around the world cut trendy styles and techniques.
The ‘lil off the top’ channel showcases 10 styling programs, teaching everyday people basic styling techniques.
