SOUTH BANK has defended its title as Queensland Retail Property of the Year, after taking out the award at The Property Council of Australia’s ceremony last week.
The prestigious awards acknowledge the best in retail properties and precincts while celebrating the contribution of the industry to the broader community.
CEO of South Bank Corporation, Jeff Weigh, said he couldn’t be happier as there were 71 finalists in contention for the award.
“The Retail Property of the Year award is one of the most respected awards of achievement in our industry, recognising excellence in design, marketing, presentation and food retailing,” Mr Weigh said.
“Not only did we win the Queensland Retail Property of the Year, but we also took home the Excellence in Marketing award for the Neighbourhood and Stripe Centre category, thanks to the eatSouthBank campaign,” he said.
“The eatSouthBank campaign has catered for the dining demands of today’s consumers and has become a food lover’s destination.
“The food industry has seen phenomenal growth in the last couple of years and the eatSouthBank platform was designed to go hand-in-hand with this.”
“South Bank has a unique mix of world-class restaurants and pristine natural surrounds which attracts more than ten million local and international visitors each year,” Mr Weigh said.
“South Bank offers a broad range of aspects to the community and ultimately this award cements our position at the top of Brisbane’s retail and food industry,” he said.
“We would like to congratulate all the other finalists and winners as that in itself is still a great achievement and for their ongoing support for Queensland’s retail industry.”
